WOW! Since these first 11 episodes have aired a metric ton of comments, phone calls and emails have been pouring in! The show has been featured on the Libsyn feed (I’ll link that for you) and has been shared countless times across every social media network out there! You. Are. Awesome.

And here’s episode 12: Apple doesn’t think spying on you will protect you.
When Donald Trump wants to boycott Apple for making Products that protect the privacy of every single person who owns them, he makes it known by pulling out an Apple iPhone and using it to write a short blurb on Twitter, a company that is standing behind Apple in their fight to protect us.

Ironic isn’t it? Maybe just stupid, in fact, it is stupid.

1st off, let me get this out there: Tim Cook is a damn hero. He has effectively taken a principled stand to protect our freedom even if it has turned half the country against him and his country. Donald Trump and the FBI can say all they want about this being a publicity stunt, but they are morons. Apple loses far more than it stands to gain even if they win this fight.

And for Donald Trump to say Tim Cook and Apple are doing this to show how “liberal they are” is nonsense. Protecting our rights isn’t a liberal idea, it’s not a conservative idea. It’s an American idea! Our right to privacy keeps us safe. It keeps our children safe from prying eyes, it keeps our bank accounts safe from hackers.

Remember the target hacks, the Home Depot hacks, all the credit cards that were stolen? A lack of security and encryption was why they were able to be stolen! Remember the high school IT guy who was watching kids getting undressed in their bedroom through the camera on their school issued laptops? LACK OF SECURITY!

Right now, at this very instant, there are websites dedicated to taking advantage of the lack of encryption on your baby monitor. You heard that correctly: if you have a baby monitor in your infants bedroom that uses wifi there is a very good chance that it can be accessed by anyone in the world at any time.

Donald Trump says he wants America to be great, but he refuses to admit the incredible danger he is putting us in by demanding Apple get rid of the iPhones security. What Donald Trump and FBI want to do is so dangerous that the smartest people in this country are screaming at us at the top of their lungs not to let the government weaken the security of our computers and cell phones.

What Donald Trump is pushing for is frightening and dangerous. There is no question about it. Everyone who knows anything about computers agrees that giving in to the FBI’s demand to destroy security on the iPhone will put every one of us , even congressman even senators, even our president, in danger.

We all own computers and cell phones. We use them for everything. They hold our social security numbers, credit card information, kids schedules and all of our bank account information. And if the FBI, the NSA, the Media and Donald Trump don’t think those things are worth protecting they are either crazy, stupid as hell, or they want to hurt you.

“but if you don’t have anything to hide what are you worried about” is just about the stupidest possible words that can come out of someones mouth.

Giving the government a door into our phones and computers is exactly the same as giving criminals, hackers and foreign governments a door into our phones and computers.

Britain, France, Russia, China and *gasp* countries in the Middle East are going to be DEMANDING the same access that the Unites States is trying to get right now. Apple won’t be able to refuse, and it wouldn’t matter if they did because once a countries like China and Russia KNOW there is a way in to these devices they will find it. End of story.

Donald Trump is a hypocrite. If he wanted to be consistent he would stop tweeting, stop using computers period because it’s not just Apple taking this stand. Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Facebook and many more are all standing behind Apple and every one of them plan on joining Apples fight for the American publics freedom in court.

No one who thinks that making something less secure is going to make us more secure. That’s nonsense. Pure nonsense.

I have a challenge for Donald Trump to stand by his convictions and let all of us know what ALL of his passwords are. His bank account, email, cell phone, websites etc… If he really believes that we don’t need security on our devices this shouldn’t be a problem right? Or is he going to give up our rights and make sure his stuff remains encrypted.

You want Donald Trump to be consistent and lead by principles? Don’t hold your breath.
